Learning Outcomes
      The aims of this course are for learners to:
 
  •      Gain an understanding of some of the eating, drinking and swallowing difficulties that may be experienced by people with Learning Disabilities
  •      Be able to recognise some of the warning signs that could indicate a need to refer to Speech and Language Therapy
  •      Increase awareness of how to safely support and supervise a service user’s eating, drinking and swallowing
Refresher

Every 2 years for nursing staff and support workers working at Mersey Care Whalley

Target Audience
This is a practical course for all clinical staff and support workers, particularly those who will be directly involved in supporting mealtimes.
