• Priority 1: Recognising the dying phase
• Priority 2: Sensitive communication
• Priority 3:Treatment decisions
• Priority 4:The needs of the family
• Priority 5: The EOL care plan

At the
end of the session colleagues should be able to:
List the DH 5 priorities for care of the dying patient
Identify signs of a dying patient
List potentially reversible causes for a patient’s deterioration
Identify key considerations in care of the dying patient
