Course Information
The aim of the course is to provide delegates with an understanding of fire safety and the practical skills needed in the event of a fire, specifically looking at the role and duties of a Fire Warden.
Delegates will receive training about fire legislation, fire behaviour, and fire classifications and receive instruction on correct fire procedures and safe evacuation routines.
Looking at how to prevent fires from breaking out and ensuring the safety of others in the event of a fire occurring.
This course also includes live fire extinguisher training. Delegates are taught the correct fire extinguisher handling and operating practices and can experience the use of different fire extinguishers, as well as a fire blanket on real fire.
We ensure delegates have sufficient knowledge and understanding to act confidently and effectively in a fire emergency situation in order to carry out their required duties.
**The course requires participants to put a real fire out. If you have any medical conditions such as respiratory issues which might be impacted by smoke, please consider this and discuss this with your line manager before attending the training session.**

Target Audience
Non-inpatient areas – Fire Warden including Fire Extinguisher Training
This training is appropriate for staff working within health centres, walk in centres, offices, non-inpatient areas of the hospitals excluding secure.

Non-attendance is closely monitored, the cost of the training is free to all divisions, however we do ask if you are unable to attend to please let the Fire team know as soon as possible (48hours notice) as we will be able to offer this space to someone else.
Nonattendance on the course will cost the trust £50 per place.
