Course Information
Participants will be required to demonstrate the skills to treat the conditions listed in the learning outcomes, and should attend suitability dressed for practical sessions PLEASE NOTE – successful candidates will be required to perform CPR on a resuscitation manikin for at least 2 minutes in order to pass the course. Participants will also be required to complete a multiple choice examination paper and practical assessment
Learning Outcomes

​• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
• Care of the unconscious casualty
• First aid for bleeding, shock, musculo-skeletal injury, burns, injuries to the eyes, inhalation of fumes and poisoning
• Recognition and appropriate action for major and minor illnesses
• Transportation of the casualty
• How to act safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work
• How to use first aid equipment and also contents of a first aid box
• Duties of the employers and legal framework
• Maintenance of records
• Recognition of the importance of personal hygiene in first aid procedures
• Management of catastrophic bleeding
• Use of Automated External Defibrillator
