Course Information
To provide staff with the knowledge and expertise to enable staff to initiate care for patients presenting as a consequence of an incident where a person or persons has been contaminated with or by a known or unknown substance likely to be hazardous to health, at the same time, protecting staff, existing patients and properly from secondary contamination
Learning Outcomes
·         Awareness of the principles of Initial Operational Response (IOR)
·         Awareness of substance identification and M/ETHANE
·         Awareness of HAZMAT and CBRN incidents
·         Knowledge of zones, cordons
·         Knowledge of NHS England guidance for NHS Health facilities receiving contaminated self referrals/presenters
