Learning Outcomes
To gain an understanding father/male carer’s role in relation in causing Non -Accidental Injury for children under 1 year old and how well the Safeguarding System understands this
Have an overview of the findings/ themes from the ‘Review’
To gain an understanding of how safeguarding system can be more effective at engaging, assessing, and planning for and with men in the protection of children (or those for whom they have a parenting responsibility).
Have an overview of the Four- Tiered Model and impact of this on Practice
Have an overview and understanding of the recommendations from the ‘Review
Have a clear understanding of your roles and responsibilities as when engaging and supporting father’s/ Step- Father’s/ Carers within a Universal Service offer

Target Audience
Health Visitors, School Nurses, Community Health Nurses, Nursery Nurses, Perinatal Mental Health Team and Walk in Centre staff. All other practitioners who have direct contact with children
