Module 2 - Management of leg Ulcer Treatment
• Describe the characteristics of venous and arterial ulcers
• Be able to recognise factors that effect wound healing
• Recognise that leg ulceration is a sign/symptom of an
underlying problem that needs to be identified
• Recognise when a patient with a chronic wound, needs
further assessment
• Assess patients with ulceration using a systematic approach
• Utilise assessment forms correctly
• Describe what Doppler ultrasound is and how it works
• Perform a Doppler assessment
• Ankle Brachial Pressure Index
