Course Information
This course provides a comprehensive overview to vital signs observations (manual blood pressure, manual pulse, tympanic temperature, SPO2, respiration rate and ACVPU conscious level), use of the National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) track and trigger tool and appropriate and timely escalation of a deteriorating patient using the SBARD communication tool. Practical element opportunity to enhance manual clinical skills of observations under supervision.
Learning Outcomes

​1. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of improving safety and quality of person-centred care.
2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the assessment, interpretation and recognition of the deteriorating patient using vital sign observations and the National Early Warning Score 2.
3. Escalate timely and appropriately in clinical practice using the SBARD Communication Tool.
4. Have Sepsis awareness.
5. Utilise scenarios and practical simulation to enhance knowledge and understanding.
