Course Information
STRIVE is one of Mersey Care's exciting and challenging leadership development programmes. The programme is designed to meet the needs of our staff, patients, and organisation to succeed in achieving our organisational goals, aims, and objectives. We want to ensure that we are developing the leaders for the future NHS with the right knowledge, behaviour and skills to do their best job and bring their whole selves to work. A successful leader engages and inspires others to achieve transformation. This programme is formed on the concepts of Leading in an Empowered Organisation, and the conceptual framework of the Empowerment Triangle. Developing Leaders to operationalise a Restorative Just Culture within their teams, creating a safe environment with psychological safety for inclusion and belonging to thrive.
Learning Outcomes

  • ​​To know how to be an authentic leader and bring whole self to their role
  • To understand the role of the leader and put into practice skills gained
  • To understand and translate the organisational goals, aims and objectives to achieve team outcomes.
  • Be able to build strong relationships within the team and develop a culture of trust and psychological safety
  • ​​To be able to lead quality improvement within the team and build capacity.

Target Audience
STRIVE is aimed at first line managers and leaders who may deputise in their absence, both clinical and non-clinical, for instance Ward Managers, Staff Nurses, Assistant Site Managers, Administration Managers, Project Leads etc. Our programmes are designed against, current knowledge, skills, roles and responsibilities and not on Job Bands. To ensure that you are accessing the right programme for your development we utilise a Leadership and Culture Training Needs Assessment (TNA) designed to identify some training needs related to your leadership development. The other element of the programme alignment is your roles and responsibilities within your job. The TNA helps foster a more cohesive and adaptive leadership framework that promotes a positive organisational culture and drives overall performance ensuring our staff receive the right learning at the right time.
