Course Information
Staff training to assist with the safe implementation of a structured approach to helping our service users manage often complex and overwhelming emotions during a period of crisis that requires an inpatient admission.
Learning Outcomes
  • To understand the main principles of the self harm pathway
  • To explore the 5 main principles underpinning safe and caring patient care – trauma informed care, least restrictive practice, person centred care, safety comes first and care that empowers.
  • To understand the reasons why people may use self harm to cope
  • To understand what the self harm pathway looks like in practice. To explore the skills used to structure the intervention.
