Course Information
This course aims to raise awareness of speech, language and communication needs within a Forensic Learning Disability population.
Learning Outcomes

​• To have a better understanding of communication.
• To be able to identify a range of communication skills and needs in others.
• To be aware of your role in a communication situation and how you can encourage communication.
• To develop strategies to facilitate communication with service users who have speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).

Refresher

​This course is offered as part of the induction at Mersey Care Whalley, however it available for existing staff to attend to maintain their competency.

Target Audience
All staff who will have contact with service users who have a learning disability.
