Process for completion
In order to complete the training and commence witnessing of administration of medicines in practice you and your manager must ensure completion of the steps below:-
- PART A: Complete and pass the eLearning package (completed by witness).
- PART B: Complete the 'Assessment of Competence in Practice' document (completed by the witness, assessor and manager)
- This document will be provided as a PDF pop up via the eLearning module at the 'successful completion screen'
- You will need to print this document out in order to be assessed in practice
- You must be observed witnessing in practice by a qualified member of nursing staff who will then sign the document
- This must be signed off by your manager and recorded via ESR
After this you can witness the safe and effective administration and documentation of medicines.
Refresher
Elearning package to be completed every three years
To maintain you your knowledge and skills you are required to ensure the following:-
- You complete the 'Assessment of Competence in Practice' document ANNUALLY and have this recorded via PACE
Target Audience
This eLearning course is mandatory every 3 years for all band 3&4 staff whose job role requires witnessing medicines administration.
It is only MANDATORY for staff members who require if for their job role.
