Course Information
Staff will be assessed in practice To be able to plan the care of a patient with a Leg Ulcer. To understand the pathophysiology of leg ulceration, Describe the characteristics of venous and arterial ulcers Identify relevant information Describe what Doppler ultrasound is and how it works Perform a Doppler assessment Implement the findings of Doppler assessment in context with the nursing assessment Describe treatment strategies Describe the effect of compression bandaging on the superficial venous system Utilise compression bandages appropriately Correctly apply a recognised bandage regime
