Course Information
This course will introduce you to the management and principles of Digital Rectal Examination. The course will be taken over 1 full day face to face and give the attendees a chance to observe and practice DRE. Course content will include, Anatomy and Physiology, Functions of the Bowel, Constipation and faecal incontinence, Rome Criteria, Bristol Stool Type, Diet and medication, Red flags, Spinal Cord Injury, Autonomic Dysreflexia Consent, Documentation Practical session

Target Audience
All staff who undertake DRE as part of their role including District Nurses, Treatment Rooms staff, ICRAS and Community Matrons ICN- Integrated Community Nursing.
