Falls Prevention and Management

Falls Prevention training has been co-designed with the subject matter experts (SMEs) from our Divisions and through the Trust Wide Falls Prevention Group (TWFPG) including lived experience. It has been designed for all clinically facing staff and will take no more than 20-30 minutes to complete via e-Learning.

Immunisation Foundation Training for Registered Health Practitioners within Children’s Services

This session is designed to update health care practitioners involved in delivery or promotion of the national routine childhood immunisation programme with the core knowledge base they need to promote high uptake of vaccination The overall aim of immunisation foundation training is to ensure all practitioners engaging in any aspect of immunisation so that they are able to confidently, competently, safely and effectively promote and administer vaccinations. It is vital that healthcare professionals involved in immunisation receive solid foundation training in immunisation. They need to understand what the vaccine policies and programmes are, how they are designed and why changes are made. It is also important that they are offered regular updates in order to be informed of any amendments or of new policies and programmes.

This eLearning course is mandatory every 3 years for registered nursing and pharmacy staff whose job role requires medicines calculations. It is only MANDATORY for staff members who require if for their job role.

NEWS2: Escalation for a Deteriorating Patient eLearning Part A

This course provides a comprehensive introduction Via E-Learning to vital signs observations (manual blood pressure, manual pulse, tympanic temperature, SPO2, respiration rate and ACVPU conscious level), use of the National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) track and trigger tool and appropriate and timely escalation of a deteriorating patient using the SBARD communication tool.

Safeguarding Adults Level 2/3

The safeguarding team is responsible for ensuring all staff employed by Mersey Care have access to good quality training that is relevant to their role and clinical competencies. The safeguarding team achieve this through a combination of mandatory children & adult training at L1,2 & 3, Children’s Specialist and non- mandatory bespoke training available as CPD sessions All staff who come into contact with children, young people, adults at risk and their families have a responsibility to safeguard and promote their welfare and know what to do if there are concerns about safeguarding, abuse or neglect.
